Albaray – information about the environmentally friendly fashion company.
The brand is a relatively new player in the fashion world beginning it’s life in 2020 during times when even established businesses were struggling. The team got together as their intentions were to create sustainable products that were not only fashionable but also of high quality materials that would last.
Albaray uses organic cotton but not just for its luxurious softness, it is also more environmentally friendly compared to standard cotton. By using organic cotton, they reduce the amount of water needed to produce cotton, lowers greenhouse gas emissions, and lower quantities of chemicals are used in production.
The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) provides certification for the cotton supplied, and the cotton is produced in a way which safeguards the environment and is fair towards the farmers who rely on this for their livelihoods. Research has been conducted to make sure that none of the cotton comes from regions known for using forced labour.
The recycled polyester in our collection has Global Recycled Standard Certification and is made from consumer waste such as plastic bottles which might otherwise end up in landfill. By using recycled polyester, we are reducing the demand for new petroleum extraction and the overall carbon footprint – recycled polyester production creates 70% less CO2 emissions than virgin polyester.

The denim that Albaray use in their range is treated using a sustainable laundry process which saves between 65-80 litres of water per pair of jeans. All of the denim is made in an energy efficient factory using no hazardous chemicals and, as already mentioned, the denim is produced from organic cotton.

The couriers that have been chosen to deliver their products are Evri, Royal Mail and DPD. All three companies are reputable delivery services in the UK so Albaray utilises them depending on which service they or their customer require.
