Do I Need to Be Present for DHL Courier Collection?
You or a representative must be present when the DHL courier arrives to collect your parcel. For security reasons, DHL cannot collect parcels left in ‘safe places’. If you arrange for a parcel to be collected from your office and leave it at reception, ensure that someone is available to hand it over to the courier – I’ve known of company’s who’s couriers have been to a collection address and the parcel has not been left in a safe location so please be aware that the sender is responsible for the parcel until it is handed over.
Does DHL Offer Same-Day Collection?
The company offers same-day collection services when you book online via DHLitNow or by phone. This service depends when the booking is made and also on the courier’s schedule in the area. For the best chances of same-day collection, book as early as possible. If same-day collection is not available, you can book a collection for the next working day or up to five days in advance. Collections are made during business hours, Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays.
What to Do If the DHL Courier Can’t Take Your Parcel
If the DHL courier cannot take your parcel, it may be due to the parcel containing prohibited items or missing paperwork. Contact Customer Service for advice. If another collection cannot be arranged, a refund will be issued.
How to Change or Cancel a Booking Request
To change or cancel a booking, contact Customer Service as soon as possible. If new parcel labels are needed, the original booking will be cancelled and refunded, and you will be asked to rebook.
Can DHL Deliver to PO Boxes?
DHL cannot deliver to PO Boxes in the UK. A full street address is required. However, PO Boxes may be acceptable for some international addresses. Check with Customer Service before sending.
What Happens If No One Is Available to Receive My Parcel?
If no one is available to receive the parcel, the DHL courier will leave a calling card. The receiver can either collect the parcel from their local DHL Service Point or arrange another delivery to the same or an alternative address.
